Every child deserves a strong start in school

Colorado Universal Preschool Eligibility All four year olds living in Colorado will be eligible for 15 hours of preschool 

  • Four year olds with any one of the following qualifying factors will be eligible for an additional 15 hours of preschool at no cost to you (foster care, homelessness, dual language learner, Individualized Education Plan, income less than 270% of Federal Poverty Guidelines).

  • Three year olds with any one of the following qualifying factors will be eligible for 10 hours of preschool at no cost to you (foster care, homelessness, English Language Learner, Individualized Education Plan, income). *Please note that BVSD will be providing 15 hours of preschool at no cost as our preschool classrooms are mixed age with 3 and 4 year olds.

  • Children with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) will only have services provided in a district preschool program.

Colorado Universal Preschool Preferences

Children with the following circumstances will be assigned a preference in the matching process: 

  • have already attended one year of preschool at the school they are applying to

  • have older siblings in the school they are applying to

  • have parent employees at the school they are applying to

  • live inside the school attendance boundaries or 

  • live in the school district of the school they are applying to

No matter how many circumstances apply, a child can only be assigned a preference once.

Returning families: please note that families returning to their current preschool will not automatically roll up next year; you must re-apply through BridgeCare.
